Tour with the best of mayan history and archeology combined with the natural wonders of Chiapas, Campeche and Yucatan.

 

Program

1st Day: Chiapa de Corzo - Canyon- San Cristóbal de Las Casas
Arrival at Tuxtla Gutierrez airport, meeting with the guide and departure for a boat trip to the impressive Sumidero Canyon and transfer to San Cristobal de las Casas by climbing a mountain road over 2,000 meters. Dinner & overnight at Hotel Mansion del Valle or similar.

2nd Day: San Cristóbal de las Casas
Morning dedicated to the visit of the indigenous community of San Juan Chamula and Zinacantan, located few kilometers from San Cristobal. Lunch at a local restaurant. It is also planned to visit the city, the local market, where it is possible to admire the handicrafts of the natives of the area and the famous churches, among them the Baroque Santo Domingo.

3rd Day: San Cristóbal de las Casas - Palenque.
On this day we will descend from the mountains of Chiapas through green valleys. Scheduled stop to Agua Azul waterfalls and lunch. Arrival in Palenque, lodging at the Mision Palenque hotel or similar.

4th Day: Palenque- Bonampak- Yaxchilan- Palenque
Morning dedicated to the visit of the Archaeological Zone of Yaxchilán hidden deep in the jungle of Guatemala and Mexico divided by the Usumacinta River. The ancient name of this city was probably Pa 'Chan. Yaxchilan means "green stones" in Maya. Lunch. Visit of Bonampak, famous for its wonderful murals. Accommodation in Palenque.

5th Day: Palenque - Campeche
In the morning we will visit the archaeological zone of Palenque, still hidden in the tropical jungle, full of charm and unique pyramids. Lunch and departure to Campeche, on arrival a brief visit to the old city is planned, still closed and fortified with towers and walls, which retains a strong colonial flavor. Lodging in hotel Plaza Campeche or similar.

6th Day: Campeche - Uxmal - Merida.
Today, our first stop will be in the archaeological zone of Uxmal, one of the greatest testimonies of Mayan civilization. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will arrive in Merida, capital of the state of Yucatan, the White City, named for its colonial buildings. A visit to the Zocalo is planned, another stop to visit the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Municipal Palace and the Casa de Montejo. Lodging at the Hotel Colonial or similar.

7th Day: Mérida -Chichen Itza -Rio Lagartos
Departing in direction to the sea, we will make a stop halfway to visit Chichen Itza, perhaps the best known of the Mayan archaeological zones, with the famous Pyramid Kukulkán. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon we will arrive at the beautiful port of Rio Lagartos, lodging in hotel Rio Tabasco.

8th Day: Rio Lagartos-Las Coloradas-Ek Balam- Valladolid – Riviera Maya
Excursion by boat in the Rio Lagartos Biosphere to admire the Pelicans Albatros and pink flamingos, as well as encounter with crocodiles. Continuing through Ek Balam, one of the lesser known and most beautiful areas of the north of the Yucatan peninsula. Lunch at a local restaurant in Valladolid and continuation to Riviera Maya.
End of the tour.
