Celestún is a city considered a Biosphere Reserve located 95 km from the city of Mérida, on the west coast of the state of Yucatán, an incredible place characterized by its spectacular population of pink flamingos and its over 300 species of birds, reptiles and mammals . Declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations (UN) in 1986 and whose importance lies in being one of the few nesting and breeding sites of the pink flamingo in the world, it was also recently declared a Wildlife Refuge, due to its richness and diversity of species.

Celestún offers the visitor the opportunity to mitigate the heat in the fresh waters of its springs, hidden in the natural tunnels that are formed with the branches of the mangroves, that can be reached by boats guided by the locals.
