|Palenque, Mexico||15 hours|
You will leave San Cristóbal de las Casas very early in the morning and traveling through the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. You will arrive at Agua Azul, a succession of waterfalls and shallow pools where you can immerse yourself. In the dry months the water is bright blue due to the large amount of limeston. In the rainy season the color is attenuated. Here you will have free time to admire and explore the landscape and swim in its natural pools.
We will continue through Palenque to visit the Mayan archaeological site still surrounded by the jungle. Here it will be possible to take a tour of the Mayan city visiting, among the main buildings, the temple of the inscriptions where King K. 'inich Janaab' Pakal reigned and the temple of the Red Queen. Palenque is a site that contains some of the best examples of Mayan architecture with its structures, sculptures and bas-reliefs.
Return to San Cristóbal del Las Casa with arrival in the late evening.
This exciting tour is a full day tour and involves many hours of travel.
Possibility of adding a stop at the Misol Ha waterfall on request.
